24th June 2018 / Sarah Lowry: An Ideal Sunday in Maroondah

The days are always flying by, and next thing you know it's Sunday and you're left wondering what you should do to make the most of the last day of the weekend. If you're considering purchasing a new home, are new to the area or simply want to discover a broader range of places that Maroondah has on offer, learning from the locals is a great way to do it!

"For those looking to buy, Maroondah and surrounds are great areas to consider, boasting some of the most sought-after schools in the eastern suburbs, as well as a wide range of shops – including the fantastic Eastland shopping and entertainment precinct. With our ever-expanding café culture, it's not hard to see why people travel from all over to enjoy all Maroondah has to offer," raves Fletchers Maroondah director, Reilly Waterfield.

To avoid another day on the couch watching Netflix, the Fletchers Maroondah team have described their perfect Sunday spent in the Maroondah area, to help inspire yours!

"With my Saturdays being so busy with auctions, Sunday is my day to relax. I like to head to The Firehouse in Ringwood for a late breakfast, or 400 Gradi at Eastland for lunch – I love the Linguine Pescatore!"

Reilly Waterfield, Director & Auctioneer

"My husband and I have breakfast every Sunday morning at our favourite café, The Bosses Boots in Chirnside Park. It's a hidden gem next to a gorgeous lake and garden (and they also have the best hollandaise I've ever tried!) Then we'd head off for a quiet walk around Lillydale Lake, and head home from there for a quiet afternoon getting ready for the week ahead at our home in Mooroolbark."
— Melissa Honan, Personal Assistant to Reilly Waterfield

"After what's always a busy Saturday with open for inspections and auctions, I like to relax on my Sunday by starting the day with a latte at Chapter Too in Heathmont, followed by walking my dog around Ringwood Lake."

— Colby Waterfield, Property Consultant & Auctioneer

"My ideal Sunday starts with Pancakes at home with my family followed by a trip to McAlpin Park for a picnic lunch, a walk around the park and a kick of the Footy with my son, before having a relaxing afternoon at home in Croydon Hills. Grabbing takeaway from Pho Ming Long in Ringwood would cap off Sunday nicely."

— Lachlan Williams, Property Consultant

"On a Sunday I like nothing more than having a workout at the gym followed by breakfast with my family at Café Emjay in Ringwood East."
— Rod Burton, Director & Auctioneer

"On Sundays I like to go shopping at Eastland Shopping Centre with my girlfriends."

— Nicole Freene, Property Consultant

"My ideal Sunday would start with a nice stroll around Ringwood lake, accompanied by a hot coffee from my favorite local Fingers Crossed. If I'm feeling generous, I might even pop down to Kofi Bean who are famous for their incredible Smashed Avo!"

— Angelique Rita, Property Consultant

"On a Sunday I like to go for a run around Candlebark Walk Reserve followed by a coffee and breakfast at Rumour Mill in Croydon Hills."

— Jarrod Robinson, Property Consultant

"My perfect Sunday would be brunch at Vue on Halcyon in Chirnside Park, a bike ride on the bike track from Croydon to Wantirna, followed by a fish and chips dinner on the river bank at Warrandyte with my dogs."

— Sue Crook, Property Consultant

"My ideal Sunday is taking the kids to have their favourite Vietnamese noodles for lunch at Pho Minh Long in Ringwood. Following that we like to go to Eastland for some shopping or a movie."

— Eva Vorng, Property Consultant

"Rocco's Burger Café in Croydon North is my go-to for a casual Sunday lunch with the family, then we like to relax on Sunday afternoons at our home in Croydon North."
