9th February 2019 / Prue Fletcher: WHAT TO PACK FOR THE PERFECT PICNIC

I don't know about you, but putting the kids in the car, packing a picnic and taking them to sit on the open grass at some of Melbourne's most iconic gardens this Summer is HIGH on our priority list.

When deciding on the perfect spot, think
@zoosvictoria, @royalbotanicalgardensvic or even amidst the beautiful Dandenong Ranges at @puffingbillyrailway.

There are so many places to visit in this beautiful city, we are spoilt for choice!

Here's my top tips for packing the perfect picnic:

1) The perfect picnic mat is a must - my personal favourites can be found at @projecttenaustralia. They always have some unique and colourful options available!

2) Food safety. Always make sure you pack your items appropriately, ensuring that cold packs are on hand for food that would normally be kept in the fridge.

3) Bring cutlery when appropriate, or opt for recyclable products, making an effort to leave a clean footprint wherever you go.

4) Keep salad dressing separate to avoid soggy salads.

5) Bring activities. A bat and a ball always come in handy...nothing screams 'Australian Summer' more than a game of cricket!
