Road trips are fun but trying to keep the kids entertained for hours at a time can be tricky!

Some friends of mine recently took their kids out of school for 6 weeks and embarked on the trip of a lifetime - driving the East Coast of Australia.

They shared with me their top 5 tips on what helped keep the kids entertained during the long stretches on the road!

1) A GREAT playlist.

2) A deck of cards.

3) A good selection of healthy snacks and water.

4) Number Plate Bingo
The driver nominates the number of letters in a word, say it's 7. The passengers then have to think of a 7 letter word for themselves as they pass the cars. Parked cars CAN be included if you can catch them quick enough! You cross each letter off and the first player to cross off all 7 letters off wins!

5) The Name Game
This is where the person has to come up with a name beginning with the last letter of the previous name's surname, (i.e. Kylie Jenner, Jimmy Barnes, Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey). When driving on the roads these holidays, be safe!
