The COVID-19 pandemic and accompanying lockdown measures have turned work-life balance upside down.


This has put enormous pressure on people's physical and mental wellbeing.

Yoga can be a powerful tool to deal with the lockdown's uncertainty and isolation. The benefits of a yoga, mindfulness and meditation practice is well documented, and includes improving physical wellbeing, supporting mental health and increasing life satisfaction and self-esteem. So it's not surprising that during lockdown and these times of uncertainty and change, that an increasing number of people are turning to online yoga classes to regain balance, strength and find some quiet in our busy minds.

Clare and Susan, a Mother-Daughter team and creators of Light Space Yoga, pivoted quickly back in late March this year when their 3 studios in Balwyn, Mitcham and Ivanhoe were forced to close. Since that time, they have created an Online Studio and App with over 1,500 on-demand classes and daily livestreamed classes that you can practice in the comfort of your own home.

"It was so important to us to support our community. Back in March we obviously didn't know that our studios would still be shut come September, but we felt it was going to be very important for our students to maintain their yoga practice for both their physical and mental health." Clare comments. Susan added "And we know what it's like to be isolated in your homes and craving movement and connection. And during this challenging time we really hope that our Online Studio and App can offer people some support."

So what will you find in the Light Space Online Studio?

Yoga Classes

Yoga classes for all levels, from beginners through to advanced, in a wide variety of styles including vinyasa, slow flow and yin. Plus there is a wide range of class length options from 5 minutes to 75 minutes which makes fitting in a practice super easy even if you are short on time.

Meditation and Breathing Practices

There are lots of guided meditations, including meditations suitable to energise, relax, de-stress and even prepare for a good night's sleep.

Kids Yoga

They have over 40 kids yoga classes for all ages. In a time when we are working from home and our kids are being home schooled, there has never been a better time to introduce children to the magic of yoga.

Inspiring and Relevant Series

There is a collection of different 'Series', which are a specially curated group of classes that focus on different topics and needs such as 'Stress Management Series', 'Immune Support Series', 'Office Worker Series' and many more.

21 Day Journey to a Balanced You

Included in the Light Space Online Studio is a special 21 Day Journey designed to welcome balance, intention and wellbeing into your life. Each day offers a new 30 minute themed practice.

Pre-Natal and Post-Natal

There are pre and post natal classes, plus a special series for Newborn Mothers.

Audio Online Meditations

There is a collection of Audio Only meditations which are great for when you don't feel like watching a screen or for when you just want to lie back in bed and be guided off to sleep with a soothing meditation or yoga nidra.
