He may be short in stature but what he lacks in height he makes up for in skill, knowledge and a great, big heart.
2019 was a stellar year for Liam Rock, being awarded the Harold Fletcher No. 1 Property Consultant across the entire Fletchers group as well as selling the home which now holds the record for the highest selling residential property in his home town of Ocean Grove.
He is a busy man but it is obvious he lives by the sentiment 'a life lived to it's fullest is a life well lived'. It was a delight to sit down with our No. 1 Property Consultant to get a sneak peak into what it takes to operate at the top.
Born and bred in Ocean Grove, you've just finished building your dream home with your wife, Chloe. What do you love most about being able to sell Real Estate in your own backyard?
I love being able to go out into the local market with confidence. Living in the heart of where I sell the majority of my business, I have developed an extensive knowledge and built both a wide circle of friends and colleagues within in the local community. It's proven extremely valuable as my real estate career develops with Fletchers.
An active community member on the Bellarine Peninsula, you were the Captain of the Ocean Grove Football Club (2013-2015) and are now the club's Football Director. Tell us a bit about your involvement with the 'Grubbers'?
I was lucky enough to play football at Ocean Grove and develop many friendships and memories across my playing years. I believe local clubs and community groups play such a strong role when shaping the communities of our future, it's imperative for young kids growing up in the area to feel a sense of safety and security and for them to use those foundations as building blocks for life. Our football and netball club works hard at providing our players and their families with a solid network of opportunities as well as instilling in them a sense of camaraderie, team building and like me the nurturing of lifelong friends. I'm now into my second year as the Senior Football Director, I find it immensely satisfying that I can give back to the club that gave me so many opportunities in my youth.
During Fletchers Centenary Year (2019) you were awarded the No. 1 Property Consultant across the Fletchers Group. What did winning this award mean to you?
It was an absolute privilege to be recognised for this award, as I know I am in good company. There are many amazing agents across the entire Fletchers Group who inspire me to always raise the bar.
Last year, Fletchers celebrated 100 years of serving families within our local communities. Tell us, what does 'family' mean to you?
Family means the world to me. It gives me purpose and a reason to get out of bed each day.
Coming off the back of a stellar year and having had a solid start to 2020, how are you balancing the demands of Real Estate whilst ensuring you maintain peak mental and physical health?
The challenge is to be able to switch off once you get home of a night and be able to spend quality time with your wife and kids. Working in a round-the-clock industry such as ours, it can be demanding at times, but being able to exercise, eat well and go to the gym most days allows me to re-charge and make sure that everyone who relies on me gets my absolute best.
What advice do you have for clients looking to sell early this year?
It's a very good time to capitalise on a rising market which is fully into recovery mode post-election and banking enquiry. There are also very strong initiatives from both Federal and State Governments in assisting first home buyers to get into the market.
What was your 2019 career highlight?
The sale of 91 Orton Street, Ocean Grove which sold for $6.3 Million, a record price for an Ocean Grove property.
This amazing property attracted interest from buyers worldwide. Also, the sale at 23 The Avenue, Ocean Grove which now holds the 2nd highest residential sale in Ocean Grove selling for $3.8 Million.
What excites you about the future of Real Estate on the Bellarine Peninsula?
The exciting thing about real estate on the Bellarine is that over the last 12 - 18 months we have seen some very big sales and records achieved for individual towns, which highlights the confidence
in the market and the value that buyers are seeing along the Peninsula. The continued development and infrastructure has given more opportunity for people to immerse in the coastal lifestyle that we have on offer down here.
Being a young father, what would you like your legacy to be?
want to provide a solid and strong foundation for my children and for them to look up to me and be remembered during my working life as a dad that worked hard gave everything 110%.

... a new challenge each day.
