AUCTION SNAPSHOT | Well, that's a wrap! The last auction weekend for 2018 saw a clearance rate of 53% across Melbourne, slightly up on the previous week's result of 47%.
While the past 12 months have demonstrated a period of adjustment for the industry, CoreLogic Head of Real Estate, Geoff White, reflected on some of the more positive factors, mentioning that 'buyers now have a chance to negotiate and pick and choose from the market'. With the REA Group identifying that first-home buyers and those looking to upsize were among those who had the biggest wins in 2018, they also suggested that the outcome of the Banking Royal Commission in February could be a key event in determining the state of lending in the new year.
In Fletchers news, exquisite 3-bedroom townhouse in Canterbury sold over the weekend for just over $1.7 million. With 2 interested bidders at auction, the Federation-inspired town residence featured a beautiful courtyard, high ceilings and newly-polished parquet floors throughout the livings areas.
Results. It's a Fletchers thing.
