Our auction a week ago was highly successful, and we are well pleased. I have waited a week before writing so that what I say is untrammelled by emotion, but what I would have said then is unchanged. We are completely satisfied with the whole process. We had been very content on two previous occasions with Fletcher and Parker, and we are not in the slightest sorry that we allowed our trust in past experience to control our judgement. It has been fully justified. Rob Fletcher was a consistent source of calm and control, which all came to the fore on Auction Day. With Tim Fletcher playing the crowd, there was Rob with us, steadying and guiding our way through the subtleties of the auction process, and giving us that needed calm to make rapid in-process decisions. We're amatuers at that, so need him we did. And the others: the ever-helpful, patient, courteous administrative staff at Canterbury, the unsung heroes in the engine room: our interior designer, with her sound de-clutter advice; our photographer, who looked at our house in a way we'd never envisaged; our bits and pieces fixer; and our cleaner, no spider web survives me. Each one, in quite different ways, has contributed to our success. Strangely enough, we're going to miss them. They have been an integral, and very pleasant, part of our lives for the last two months. We are pleased beyond comment with the team effort experienced and will be delighted to recommend Fletchers any time.
