27th December 2018 / Prue Fletcher: TIPS FOR PLANNING A PARTY FOR NEW YEARS EVE

With the festive season in full swing, Christmas Day has come and gone and for some of us, the party planning has now shifted to New Years Eve!

If planning an event at home this year, here are some of the best ways to go about making sure both you and your guests have a night to remember!

Make Sure There is Plenty of Food

A great way to cater for your event is to create a grazing board. Not only it is a great way for people to eat throughout evening, it will also serve as a decorative feature for your event! You can find some great inspiration via my go-to grazing board company, @wildvineplatterco.

Organise an 'Open Playlist'

One way to make sure your dance floor is always rocking is to create a shared playlist where everyone can add their favourite songs! Spotify has this feature so for all your guests who have the app, you can invite them to add their favourite anthems to ring in the New Year.

Pre-plan the Clean Up

Our favourite trick when we host parties is to always have a clean up plan! We always:
- Hire the glassware from @harrythehirer. Simply pop the glasses back in the crate and return them, unwashed!
- Pre-book a cleaner to come through the next day. Kathleen from Tidy Worx Cleaning is incredible and comes highly recommended. Contact via tidyworx@hotmail.com.
- Have tubs available and know your local recycle depo so you can do a drop off the next day.

Unique Styling Tips for the Whole Family

-Pool Party - drink floaties are available from
@sunnylifeaustralia.

-Hire a Giant Yard Game - Think Giant Jenga, Connect 4, Chess. Available to hire via @mornington_yard_games.

-DIY Photobooth - Download an app like Snap Booth and buy some DIY props from @kmartaus.

Have a safe and fun-filled New Year!
