22nd April 2020 / Prue Fletcher: STAYING CONNECTED IN SELF-ISOLATION

After over a month now of Stage 3 restrictions, the reality of working-from-home has really started to sink in. Whether you're juggling kids, caring for loved ones or cuddling up with your furry friends, we've all started to get a bit restless around the edges!

Here's some tips on how to stay connected with loved ones and help ease our separation anxiety:

  • Send a Hand Written Letter or Card

Whether it's a love note penned on the back of a blank piece of paper or you find joy in curating a beautiful memoir on some deliciously hand crafted stationery, there are very few things that spark as much joy as receiving a hand written note via snail mail.

  • Cook a Communal Meal

Get your friends or family to tune into @Benshewry (Chef and Owner of Attica) and @hamishblakeshotz cook along series on Instagram Live. They're fun, easy and a great way to improve your culinary skills!

  • Start a Book Club with Friends

There's some great platforms available, however Bookclubz (via App Store) is free and easy to use!

  • Call People. Yes, Actually Call!

A good conversation with a family member or dear friend goes a long, long way towards cultivating inner joy!

Or, perhaps you're feeling over-connected? Take a break! If you're living in a busy household or are feeling too tied to the online world, this can actually start to make you feel 'disconnected'. So, why not have a digital detox this weekend? Read the paper, go for a long walk or do something outdoors like gardening!

And remember, all of these things will serve you well when we re-enter our brave new world!
