When it comes to Christmas, I think it's time to say tinsel has had its day. With so many affordable homewares on the market, we can allow ourselves to be a little more creative each and every year when changing up our festive decor.
Living in this beautiful country, we also have such an abundance of natural resources at our fingertips, which I will be using in creative ways to add colour and texture to our Christmas table! Here's some cost effective ways on how to refresh your Christmas table this year!
The Base
A good tablecloth lays the foundation for a great table! There are a range of options available at @zarahome with my personal favourite always being linen.
The key to laying a great tablecloth is to let it land with a little more ruggedness than you usually would, making it look a little more effortless whilst creating texture and interest when adding the rest of your tableware.
Tableware
Cutlery, napkins, tumblers and wine glasses are all an important feature for your overall look. You can purchase some interesting pieces from @bedbathntable with some of my favourites this year being the Verona range, in Smokey Blue.
Decorations
Make sure to personalise your table. We always include lots of art and craft items collected over the years, hand painted Santa faces, Dutch heirlooms, baubles, pinecones collected from the backyard, lemons off the tree, a drift wood Christmas tree made by our friends at @knightjars2016 and lots of summer fruits (think strawberries, nectarines) to add that depth of colour.
We also never miss the opportunity for a good Bon Bon, so make sure you check out our Fletchers Blog for some creative ways to add a personalised touch to these this Christmas!
