Meet Shea Lamont, a rising star in Manningham, thriving under the Fletchers brand. Raised by strong women after losing her father early in life, she embodies the values of hard work and kindness. With a mantra of 'show me don't tell me', Shea's drive to prove herself through action has earned her a growing repeat referral business in an industry where trust is paramount.

We caught up with Shea to learn more about her inspiring journey.

Why Real Estate

I grew up in a competitive environment academically as well as being a committed and competitive dancer. When I finished school, I deferred a law degree and decided to follow my passion of professional dancing. Post dance, I wanted to find a career that would benefit my high motivation and competitive drive. As a dance teacher, I fell in love with assisting young dancers in achieving their personal goals. The camaraderie and passion in this environment I found to be unmatched. I tried to combine all of these factors when searching for my chosen career and really feel I have achieved that in Real Estate.

What was the most important piece of advice you were given as a young girl?

Follow your heart and you'll end up in the right place. I rely heavily on my intuition and what feels right. I grew up surrounded by strong women who taught me to run with life and make something great of it. In particular, I have a lot to thank my dance & english teachers, mother and grandmother – whom have all been incredible role models.

Fletchers are now in their 105th year serving families within the local community. Tell us, what does 'family' mean to you?

Family is everything to me. Being so young when my dad passed, brought me closer to my family – especially my sisters. There's nothing more precious than a bond between sisters. My grandmother has been one of my biggest supporters and has been such a beautiful example of how to care for the people you love. I can't wait to start my own family one day and continue that same love for generations to come.

As a rising star within our Manningham team, what can clients expect from Shea Lamont?

I genuinely believe that honesty and kindness get you far in life and go about my business hoping to make my clients feel they can rely on me. Staying true to your word & using that as motivation to propel you forward and achieve the best outcome possible for both vendor and buyer, is the backbone of my business. I grew up being aware of some negative messaging attached to agents and I am working hard to change the stigma and be part of a new generation of trusted professionals.

What's your take on the property market for the remainder of 2024?

Economic indicators such as employment rates, GDP growth, and interest rates can influence major markets. However, in micro markets like the eastern suburbs, the demand for blue-chip real estate remains strong. Specifically, in Manningham, it's important to remember that while economic factors play a role, local market conditions often have a more immediate impact. With strong demand and limited supply in the eastern suburbs, the real estate market is projected to remain positive throughout 2024.

Where do you think demand will come from? Are Eastern suburbs buyers typically looking to invest or secure more permanent addresses?

The demand is traditionally comes from both the homeowner and investor market. Homeowners more so, are likely to be driven by the appeal of settling in a desirable area with strong community amenities and schools, while investors will be attracted by the potential for capital growth and rental returns.

What excites you about your working for the Fletchers Group?

Fletchers have an amazing group of people representing the brand and assisting in the growth of the younger agents. I've felt so supported and encouraged by everyone and I am beyond grateful that I reached out to Bradley and made the switch to selling homes in the eastern suburbs. We've got an exciting group of up-and-coming agents eager to achieve great things & I am excited to be part of it.

What keeps you busy outside of real estate?

I'm pretty big on getting out in nature and experiencing the world! I love to travel. I'm very much a "work hard, play hard" type of person. When I'm in work mode, I'm exercising twice a day and sticking to a strict routine. When I've got time off, I like to be spontaneous and just enjoy every little moment surrounded by the people that I love.

And lastly, thinking about the future, what would you like your legacy to be?

I'd like people to remember me as somebody who always had time for them and made people feel like they mattered - like they were valuable. A legacy of kindness, trust and loyalty. I'd also like people to remember the fun, bubbly girl they could laugh with who was always down for a chat!

Fast 5

Favourite local restaurant

1912 in Warrandyte. Perfect food, great service and locally made wine!

No.1 wellness tip

If you can, get up an hour early in the morning & go for a walk in nature. I walk along the Yarra in Warrandyte every morning, grab a coffee from Riverview Café & listen to a podcast. Watching the sunrise is so ingrained in my daily routine that I haven't missed a day in years.

Favourite sporting team

Carlton - Go Blues!

3 people you'd love to have dinner with

  • My dad, I'd want to tell him everything he's missed
  • Taylor Swift, the obsession runs deep and I need to pick her brain. She's the ultimate girl boss.
  • Sylvia Plath, she was extremely vulnerable and I love how she questioned life's meaning and purpose through her poetry. There's so much to learn and understand in this world so I think she'd be a really interesting person to have a conversation with.

Favourite spot for coffee in Manningham

Riverview Cafe Warrandyte - they often have my coffee ready before my card even taps the eftpos machine. I have it every day!
