Living on the Bellarine & supporting St Kilda, already sets Mark Day apart from your regular local.
A man that has his family at the heart of all that he does makes him the perfect fit for our Bellarine team.
We got to sit down with him to find out where he's been and more importantly, where he plans on going.
Welcome aboard, Mark.
1. Why Real Estate?
It's something I have always been interested in from a young age, having spent hours tagging along with my grandmother visiting various properties she had accumulated over the years. This sparked my own interested and from there I have kept the family bug alive having had many of my own projects over the years.
2. What was the most important piece of advice you were given as a young boy?
Something that has always resonated and stuck with me since a young age was to 'listen to understand not simply listen to reply'. It's a simple concept that I carry with me daily and I feel it has certainly helped me to build genuine connections.
3. Fletchers are now in their 104th year serving families within the local community. Tell us, what does 'family' mean to you?
Family is the single most important aspect of my life, and it is something that I don't take for granted. Surrounding yourself with family is the strongest armor you need to succeed in life.
4. As a new member to our Bellarine team, what's been your experience buying / selling in the past and what can our clients expect from Mark Day?
I have had many diverse personal projects in the past from renovating, subdividing and building, both residential and commercial in nature. I get excited when I see a property with loads of potential that perhaps others might not see on face value. I'm a great communicator so talking to people about not only the immediate potential of a property but also the future potential of what could be comes second nature to me.
5. What's your take on the property market for the remainder of 2023? Springboard for ideas could be found here?
Costal properties have always held up in a correction in the market and we are starting to see a rebound in terms of new listings coming on and attracting multiple parties. This is a positive sign of things to come as buyer competition heats up, pointing towards a very strong second half of 2023.
6. Where do you think demand will come from? Are Bellarine buyers typically looking to buy holiday homes or permanent residential?
A large portion of our client base are metropolitan buyers looking to purchase a holiday home or relocate permanently. With breathtaking beaches, the coastal town vibe and world-class food and wine offerings, it's easy to see why The Bellarine provides an enticing lifestyle for those currently living a more face paced city lifestyle.
7. What excites you about you working for the Fletchers Group?
Aligning myself with a strong, well-respected brand like Fletchers Group is exciting for me as the possibilities for success are endless. The Geelong and Bellarine Peninsula has always had a strong affiliation with Fletchers Group and now I can tell people that I am a part of the team.
8. What keeps you busy outside of real estate?
Spending time with family and friends, having two young kids and a new puppy to chase after doesn't leave a lot of time for many other things. If I can manage to sneak away you'll find me somewhere along 13th Beach surfing with mates.
9. And lastly, being a father of two, what would you like your legacy to be?
Simply that I provided my children with amazing experiences, lots of funny and happy memories and also life skills to be confident in living a fulfilling life.
