What's happening in the market…

The rental market is still on the rise, with The Domain Group reporting that Melbourne's median rental price rose 5% for houses over the last year. However, Melbourne's median rental price of $420 for houses and $400 for units remains below that of Sydney, Darwin and Canberra.

Domain highlighted that although Spring is the most popular season to sell property, vendors should not look past Winter. "Analytics reveal that selling in spring is no more advantageous than selling in winter", they explained. Taking into account supply and demand, Winter auctions and sales have their own perks, which includes less homes to compete with.
