2nd April 2019 / Rob Fletcher: AUCTION SNAPSHOT | 30 & 31 March 2019

'More homes have sold under the hammer in Melbourne last weekend than in any other city in the country', according to Australian Head of Real Estate, Geoff White, who says the renewed confidence in the market is 'encouraging'.

Ending the weekend on a state-wide auction clearance rate of 54%, Fletchers are very pleased to report results well above market average, with our agents clearing 80% of homes and seeing as many as 4 bidders at auction. In spite of the wet weather, Jayitri Smiles from the Herald Sun said 'determined bidders weren't turned away' from picture-perfect properties, which saw some of the best auction results so far this year.

Commenting on current market conditions, Wakelin Property Advisory Director, Jarrod McCabe, said the agents were still working towards selling properties quickly. 'Top agents push hard to sell the property at auction, but are ready to redouble their efforts to complete the transaction in the days or even weeks after auction day should the property be passed in. They know there are genuine buyers out there if a property is priced and presently correctly'.

In Fletchers news, Director & Auctioneer, Rob Sheahan sold contemporary beauty, 15 Shepherd Street in Surrey Hills over the weekend, which went under the hammer for $1,315,000. The fully-renovated, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home with vine-laden alfresco and landscaped garden provided the ideal setting for families and downsizers looking to move to the area.

Results. It's a Fletchers thing.
