22nd July 2011: Mitcham Real Estate is Great for Families

Mitcham is a located just 20 km east of Melbourne, making it an ideal place to raise a family and commute to the city. Until the 1960s Mitcham real estate was mostly devoted to orchards since it was originally settled by a farmer that specialised in plants used in perfumes. It also has lots of land devoted to pottery and brickmaking due to the high levels of clay found in much of the soil. However, after World War II, in the 1950s Mitcham became another suburb of Melbourne. Developments stretched out of the city seeking places to market to those that need to work in the city but prefer quieter surroundings in which to raise a family.

Mitcham real estate is a perfect place to raise a family with a population of just over 14,000. The town is still self-sufficient with shopping available locally and schools running all the way from primary through college. The local secondary school, Mullauna College, allows families to stay together and creates a great environment to raise children.
