Chilly temperatures but sunny skies made for a pleasant day filled with auctions.

The REIV reported a clearance rate of 77 per cent over the weekend, with 469 auction scheduled to take place; of those 362 were sold.

In Hawthorn, the Victorian timber home at 63 Haines Street went under the hammer. The two-bedroom period home has been well maintained with verandah lacework, Baltic pine floors, open fireplace and new carpet. The home is located within walking distance to vibrant Glenferrie Road, trams and prestigious private schools. Auction day saw an seven eager bidders hoping to secure the property. Reaching $205,000 over reserve, the home was sold for an impressive $1.405 million.

The picturesque four bedroom timber home at 20 William Street in Box Hill sits in a prized position close to shops, schools and transport. The home features an adjoining living and dining room with open fireplaces, open plan kitchen and family meals area which are complemented by a north facing alfresco deck. Ready for its next resident, the home had seven bidders on auction day and was sold under the hammer for $1.56 million.

Sitting at the rear of four single level villas, 3/33 Riversdale Road in Hawthorn is perfectly suited to downsizers and small families. An inviting terrace flows indoors via French doors to the generous lounge and dining room. A timber kitchen and meals area looks out to a leafy courtyard garden. Surrounded by the buzz of Swan street and Bridge Road the home has been painted throughout, high ceilings, polished concrete benches and engineered floorboards. The auction of 15 Park Street got underway with auctioneer Michael Richardson fielding bids from five parties. The auction, which was live streamed on the Fletchers Facebook page received a large audience of over 4,000 viewers. The keen bidders helped this home sell for an impressive $1 million.
