Captivatingly Unique "Swan Bay House"

Floorplan

From the moment you step inside this home you just know that you have found something incredibly special. It could be argued that there is nothing else like it in the area. Nothing else that that could match the quality, nothing else that enjoys such remarkable views and certainly no other home that has attained the prestige of being named a Victorian Home Of The Year and then having a four page spread dedicated to its beauty in the Australian House and Garden magazine.

Constructed to suit the needs of a reputable Melbourne family approximately ten years ago, its design was carefully planned to replicate the uniqueness and homely nature of a Nantucket Whaler's cottage complete with widows tower .

The colour's and textures used throughout the home handsomely reflect the seaside setting and remind you of both this homes location (directly opposite the water) as well as transporting you to the far away islands north of New York.

The pretty cottage garden, resplendent with roses, greets you and draws you into the home. Once inside, there are a number of features that jump right out to captivate the senses. Rich recycled messmate and Tasmanian Oak flooring (with black caulking reminiscent of a ships hull), soaring angled ceilings, whitewashed timber walls and the grand staircase all take your breath away...it is a tough decision determining where to explore first as there is plenty to discover. Three generously irregular shaped bedrooms are situated on the lower level and provide an abundance of space for family and guests in which to relax.

The huge open plan living area (with its built in bookcases, gas log fire, access to the paved entertaining from the dining area). French doors to the front portico overlooking the striking bay views. Its galley kitchen boasts stone tops, double oven and a plethora of other conveniences, all of which continue the nautical theme and invite you to linger just a little longer before continuing the tour where you will also find a modern family bathroom and adjoining fitted laundry by the entrance to the cellar.

At the top of the wide staircase, there are more choices to be made, all of which will most surely delight! The master bedroom, with its port-hole windows and high attic roofline is reminiscent of something you might find in the pages of a fairy tale. A subtly positioned door leads through to a dressing room that defies belief before reaching the full ensuite bathroom. Here, the freestanding bath, double vanity and stone finish are luxuries usually reserved for five star hotels.

A further living room as spacious as the one it sits above is made even more amazing with the decked alfresco that lies beyond its French doors as the 180 degree, uninterrupted views are simply divine. Sharing them is the study/library next door which is more formally decorated and boasts in built desk and shelving.

The adjectives we use to describe objects on a daily basis seem somewhat insufficient when used to tell the story of this home. Needless to say, if your dreams are beyond the realm of the usual possibilities in Australian real estate then this home is quite likely the one for you. Complimented by a remote generous double garage with workshop space in a location that speaks for itself, there is absolutely no denying that once you have been touched by this home, nothing else could ever quite compare.

Directly opposite the water Spectacular uninterrupted views Substantial Award Winning family home Land: 561 sq m approx.

Important Information

Fletchers Area Guide Queenscliff, VIC 3225

Situated on Bellarine Peninsula and the entrance to Port Phillip Bay, Queenscliff's first residents came in the 1850s. The settlement received a fillip 20 years later when a rail service connected the town to Geelong. Today, that rail service only runs 16 km from Drysdale - now as a tourist attraction. The Bellarine Rail Trail is a walking and cycling track that largely follows the railway line. Historical buildings abound in and around Queenscliff's commercial centre.
