Queenscliff 2 Stokes Street

Victorian character meets contemporary lifestyle

Floorplan

Located in the heart of historic Queenscliff, this superbly renovated Victorian timber home perfectly combines the character of a past era with the comforts and luxuries of contemporary living.

Literally a stone's throw from Hesse Street, the home enjoys the privacy of a picket fence and a leafy curtain of well-established trees and shrubs. From the front gate, a path delivers you to a covered porch displaying the craftsmanship of the period - a turned post and fine wooden fretwork. Beside it is a single carport that further reflects the distinctive personality of those by-gone times.

The impressive entry showcases, high ceilings, period lighting, polished timber floors, pine lining boards, and a palette of white on white. A front bedroom enjoys garden views and an original open fireplace and mantlepiece, while the cosy sitting room boasts a more ornate cast iron fireplace, a ceiling rose and double windows. The thoroughly modern kitchen features loads of bench space, a white tiled splashback, an Asko dishwasher, a Siemens electric oven and 4-burner gas cooktop, and a Euro-style laundry set discreetly behind double cupboard doors. The adjacent dining area is set in a superb light-filled atrium with glass panels on three sides and access to a charming brick-paved, north-facing terrace.

Two more bedrooms have multiple built-in robes, and across the hallway the sparkling bathroom offers a generous glass-sided shower, vanity, WC, and contrasting charcoal floor tiles. Stepping out the back door, you're greeted by a gravelled garden area with raised vegetable plots, a wood-burning pizza oven, and lots of room for alfresco dining and entertainment. Ducted heating and cooling complete the appeal of this most-appealing and ideally-located Queenscliff home.

Important Information

Fletchers Area Guide Queenscliff, VIC 3225

Situated on Bellarine Peninsula and the entrance to Port Phillip Bay, Queenscliff's first residents came in the 1850s. The settlement received a fillip 20 years later when a rail service connected the town to Geelong. Today, that rail service only runs 16 km from Drysdale - now as a tourist attraction. The Bellarine Rail Trail is a walking and cycling track that largely follows the railway line. Historical buildings abound in and around Queenscliff's commercial centre.
