Queenscliff 37 King Street

A spectacular transition from the old to the new

Floorplan

The designer owners of this brilliantly renovated and extended 1913 farmhouse, have created a home that has soul, character, and a swag of contemporary comforts and features. Originally built in Ocean Grove, it was moved to Queenscliff in 1919. In recent times, it's been lovingly restored and fully up-graded to architect specifications and 5-star ratings, resulting in a unique Australian home in a historic Australian coastal town.

Many original features have been retained, and then enhanced by the introduction of modern technologies and tastes. So a charming bedroom with French doors, timber panelled walls, and vaulted ceiling is complemented by a bathroom with Italian mosaic tiles, European basin and tapware, and a frameless glass shower screen. The old and the new live together in perfect harmony.

In the spectacular open-plan kitchen/dining/living extension, modern is all the go - with the exception of the recycled Tallowood timber flooring. State-of-the-art appliances sit alongside custom-made shelving, splashback, cabinetry and benches, while ducted and zoned heating and cooling provide year-round comfort - aided by an open fire, and seasonal sea breezes through elevated louvre windows.

Add to this mix a mature, fully-landscaped garden, with decks and prime spots for outdoor dining and entertaining, and you have an extraordinary opportunity to establish a rare and enriched lifestyle close to shops, cafes, restaurants - and 5 minutes' walk to the best beach in Queenscliff.

Important Information

Fletchers Area Guide Queenscliff, VIC 3225

Situated on Bellarine Peninsula and the entrance to Port Phillip Bay, Queenscliff's first residents came in the 1850s. The settlement received a fillip 20 years later when a rail service connected the town to Geelong. Today, that rail service only runs 16 km from Drysdale - now as a tourist attraction. The Bellarine Rail Trail is a walking and cycling track that largely follows the railway line. Historical buildings abound in and around Queenscliff's commercial centre.
