17th March 2019 / Prue Fletcher: Prues Picks: Bathroom Trends For 2019

When it comes to selling houses, a close second to show-stopping kitchens is always bathrooms. This year, we're in for a treat with some of our favourite trends from 2018 continuing to linger as well as some exciting new statement looks being braved. All in all, there's something for everyone!

1) Double showers with free standing baths, how luxurious. @Alisaandlysandra completed an Albert Park development last year and their take on modern-luxe was flawless. I think we'll see a lot more of this in the coming year!

2) We'll continue to see the spotlight shine on natural textures like timber panelling and concrete tiles and the favourites in tap ware remain (matte black, brass, brushed nickel). I do think we'll start see some more colour options evolve here over the next year or so, however hardware should be chosen to stand the test of time, so I'd suggest not going too crazy.

3) Tile colour trends. We've seen a lot of people start to be a bit more bold in their colour choices, think Pantone's #COY2019 Living Coral or @emrusciano show-stopping native mosaic masterpiece used throughout her bathroom 'emovation'. There's lots of bold statements being made, I like it.

4) Tiles and hardware aside, don't forget the finishing touches. Always my go-to for a luxury towel is @amara, you can't go past their brilliant range. Remember to pair your hand towels with some beautiful soaps and candles. My personal favourites are from @salusbody, you can't go wrong when blending in their monochrome packaging, and for a statement candle - Ditptyque Baies (available from @meccacosmetica).
