The final auction weekend of 2021 was the fifth consecutive 'Super Saturday', with close to 3,000 homes scheduled to go under the hammer across the country.
Melbourne hosted its 8th busiest Saturday according to Domain's records, at a time when the real estate market is usually winding down for Christmas. Property activity traditionally slows down over the month of January, however we could see an earlier start to the season if the momentum in December carries through to 2022.
Over the weekend, Fletchers Partner & Auctioneer, Jack Peng was thrilled for the young family who successfully secured the charming villa unit at 7/74 Croydon Road in Surrey Hills. Selling for $750,000 post auction, it was a nice Christmas gift for the lucky purchasers.
The two single level units at 1 & 2/13 Windella Avenue in Kew East both attracted three bidders, and both sold. The front unit offered two bedrooms and sold for $1,081,000 and the private, three-bedroom rear unit sold for an undisclosed amount. The units are well located, just across the road from Windella Avenue Reserve and within walking distance to Kew East Primary School.
In Greensborough, the gorgeous, fully renovated four-bedroom home at 51 Lorimer Street attracted three bidders and sold under the hammer for $1,560,000.
In Wheelers Hill, agents Kristy Wang and Connor Sun achieved a street record, with the sale of 23 Plato Crescent. Four bidders competed for the well-positioned home, which sold under the hammer for $1,215,000.
From the entire team at Fletchers, we would like to wish you all the best for a safe and happy festive season. We look forward to bringing you our weekly updates again in the new year!
