Nestled between Upwey and Belgrave, Tecoma is an area rich in cultural significance and biodiversity. Located 34 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, Tecoma is often referred to as the foothill township of the Dandenong Ranges.
The town is named after the shrub Tecoma that grows in the area and was established when the need for a railway station for the nearby timber mill arose. Tecoma’s picturesque surrounding nature offer both tourists and residents the beauty and serenity of well-maintained natural habitat, so close to the city.
Families have the option of numerous schools in Tecoma and surrounding suburbs to send their children to, and the area is well-serviced by a bus service that connects with the Belgrave Railway Station.
