Located 36 kilometres from the CBD in the foothills of the Yarra Ranges, Olinda is a thriving family-oriented eastern suburb with a small population of just under 2,000 people.
Named after Olinda Creek which flows through the town, Olinda was initially a logging settlement. In the early 1900’s land was made available for horticulture and the town’s population grew substantially. Today, Olinda is home to cafes, restaurants, and numerous art galleries which showcase both local and international artists.
Catering for families, Olinda has a public swimming pool and a primary school and residents are surrounded by an abundance of natural parkland within the Olinda State Forest.
