Queenscliff 5 Learmonth Street

Charming Victorian cottage in the heart of Queenscliff

Floorplan

With its brilliant location in one of Queenscliff's beautiful, wide, tree-lined streets, and just a stroll to the main street, this lovingly-restored Victorian timber cottage is ideal for a first-home buyer, a downsizing couple, or as a seaside weekender.

Entry is via an authentic bull-nosed front verandah with turned posts and a ceramic tiled floor. From the central passage, a welcoming lounge presents an original cast-iron fireplace with a timber mantlepiece, a ceiling rose, and decorative cornicing. Opposite is a bedroom with natural light from the north and west and similar period features.

A step down from the passage takes you from the old to the new - a thoroughly modern kitchen/dining space with a Bosch electric oven and induction hot plates, a Bosch dishwasher, and plenty of serving benches and storage space. While sitting in the fireplace is an original wood-fired Everhot oven. The master bedroom has a built-in robe, and its own ensuite with a shower, vanity and WC. The main bathroom offers a bath, shower and vanity and has a separate WC. There is also a third bedroom and an adjacent laundry.

At the rear is a delightful elevated covered deck overlooking the long back garden - the ideal spot for alfresco meals and entertainment. Large clumps of bamboo provide a rather exotic backdrop, and a large garden shed offers substantial storage space.

Important Information

Fletchers Area Guide Queenscliff, VIC 3225

Situated on Bellarine Peninsula and the entrance to Port Phillip Bay, Queenscliff's first residents came in the 1850s. The settlement received a fillip 20 years later when a rail service connected the town to Geelong. Today, that rail service only runs 16 km from Drysdale - now as a tourist attraction. The Bellarine Rail Trail is a walking and cycling track that largely follows the railway line. Historical buildings abound in and around Queenscliff's commercial centre.
