Floorplan

"Waratah" is one of Queenscliff's enduring treasures - a home steeped in history, a home that combines the very best of a bygone era with the essential comforts of a contemporary lifestyle. Situated in the heart of Queenscliff and the beach is only a couple of minutes away.

Once a popular Guest house, the current owners have fastidiously returned the home to its former glory - with polished Baltic Pine floors, high ceilings with period lighting, cast-iron fireplaces and ornate mantels, feature Waratah flower bathroom tiles, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, beautiful leadlight windows, a cellar, and even a working well.

Complementing these numerous appealing character traits are modern essentials like split-system air conditioners, ceiling fans, Euro-style kitchen appliances, a spa-bath, and solar panels - all contributing to a sense of relaxed well-being.

The large open-plan "family" room extends to the generous kitchen/dining area and opens out to a delightful, north-facing private deck, sheltered from the west and south with built in barbeque and garden that runs the length of the house.

All five bedrooms (one which is currently used as a library) have their own private ensuite bathrooms, while the front sitting room has a gas log fire. Further accommodation includes a study and laundry with a WC, and a separate cottage ("Little Waratah") that's currently set up as a gym however does contain a laundry, WC and shower.

Important Information

Fletchers Area Guide Queenscliff, VIC 3225

Situated on Bellarine Peninsula and the entrance to Port Phillip Bay, Queenscliff's first residents came in the 1850s. The settlement received a fillip 20 years later when a rail service connected the town to Geelong. Today, that rail service only runs 16 km from Drysdale - now as a tourist attraction. The Bellarine Rail Trail is a walking and cycling track that largely follows the railway line. Historical buildings abound in and around Queenscliff's commercial centre.
