Queenscliff 98 Hesse Street
Rustic charm in this character-filled cottage
Down a quite laneway in Hesse Street you will find this secluded property aptly named Hideaway Cottage. It is located in the heart of Queenscliff and just a stone's throw from the shops and restaurants and easy walking distance to the beaches.
It was built by the sellers Grandfather around 100 years ago although renovations have been made over the years to bring it into today's world. The compact weatherboard cottage reflects the era with pine lining boards on walls and ceiling and other vestiges of days gone by. Entry is from a return veranda into a cosy living room with a gas log fire installed in a significantly older fire place surround, plus a split reverse cycle air conditioner to ensure year round comfort. There are two adjacent bedrooms and the gallery- style kitchen is equipped with a gas oven, cook top and range hood. Beyond the laundry a more contemporary bathroom with a shower, vanity and WC.
Attached to the cottage is a two room apartment currently used as a store room which could be renovated, it has an existing bathroom. There is also a shed which could be converted into a garage, the shed has a WC in one corner. The yard offers plenty of space to create the garden of your choice. Although it is a delightful cottage as it is, offering seclusion from the busy township, there is also scope for improvement with a clever renovation or even redevelopment ( STCA ).
Secluded Victorian era cottage just off the main street L-shaped home with return verandah and garden Living room, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, laundry & bathroom Garage/workshop, covered annex, and further storage rooms Gas heater and split system for year-round comfort Potential to renovate or redevelop (STCA)

Important Information
Fletchers Area Guide Queenscliff, VIC 3225
Situated on Bellarine Peninsula and the entrance to Port Phillip Bay, Queenscliff's first residents came in the 1850s. The settlement received a fillip 20 years later when a rail service connected the town to Geelong. Today, that rail service only runs 16 km from Drysdale - now as a tourist attraction. The Bellarine Rail Trail is a walking and cycling track that largely follows the railway line. Historical buildings abound in and around Queenscliff's commercial centre.
